The tower remains. It was already the central symbol in the previous logo of the Landesmusikakademie Rheinland-Pfalz from the 2000s and is reduced to its essential line in the redesign, recognisably the same but drawn with greater clarity.
The Arsenal typeface complements the symbol. Designed by type designer Andrij Shevchenko and recognised in 2011 as a semi-grotesque typeface with traditional forms, it was conceived primarily for body copy and professional communication. It is open, human and highly legible.
From the business card to the flag, the system remains unchanged: the same symbol, the same wordmark and the same restraint, whether on paper, fabric or in the wind.
Bureau Haussknecht and the Landesmusikakademie Rheinland-Pfalz have enjoyed a close collaboration for many years. The redesign grew out of this familiarity with the institution and its history.
