Four wind players, one piano: 4.1. The instrumentation gives the ensemble not only its name but also the organising principle of the new website. In the portraits, each of the five musicians steps forward individually while the others recede. The group portrait thus becomes a sequence of individual portraits within the same formation.

Black, off white and a restrained blue grey define the surfaces. Large, partially cropped typography sits alongside small, functional navigation, while photography and discography are given generous space.

The ensemble 4.1 is considered one of the few permanently established piano wind quintets in the world. Alongside Mozart and Beethoven, the five musicians devote particular attention to rarely performed works of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and bring them to international stages.
